As a kid I was fascinated with mechanics and electrical gadgets. I enjoyed "motor"-izing cars and bull-dozers built using Lego©.
After doing my undergraduate studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Gogte Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India, I joined the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dona Paula, Goa, India, as a Project Assistant and then a Research Fellow. ROSS and MAYA were the two robots that I got to work on as part of a small but determined group at NIO.
Robotics is a field that amalgamates Mechanics, Electronics and Computer Science in a very balanced and exciting way. Since I've always been interested in all of these, Robotics is obviously the area which I really want to work in. I am thoroughly enjoying this opportunity to work in the field at the Robotics Laboratory at USC.
In my free time, I enjoy sketching, painting, reading, photography, riding motorcycles, biking, go-karting, snow-boarding , hiking, white-water rafting... (the list goes on)...
