Namaste...

Hi, I am a PhD student in Computer Science. I got my Masters in Electrical Engineering at the Viterbi school of Engineering, University of Southern California. I have worked at the National Institute of Oceanography in India as a Research Fellow before coming to USC. I come from the beautiful state of Goa.

Since spring 2006 I have been part of the RESL (Robotic Embedded Systems Laboratory) group, directed by Dr.Gaurav Sukhatme, as a team member of the NAMOS (Networked Aquatic Microbial Observing Systems) project which is a part of CENS (Centre for Embedded Networked Sensing). More information about this is available via this Research link. I am also a team member of the MERHAB-RAPDALERT (Rapid Analysis of Pseudo-nitzschia & Domoic Acid, Locating Events in near-Real Time), which is a program aimed at Monitoring and Event Response for Harmful Algal Blooms in the coastal waters of Southern California. More information about this can be found at MERHAB. We use SLOCUM gliders manufactured by WRC, to facilitate rapid Harmful Algal Bloom detection and event response.

My research interest is to co-ordinate teams of heterogenous robots to collectively accomplish a desired task such as the detection and characterization of harmful algal blooms in a region of interest.

In general I am interested in signal and image processing, wireless sensor networks, robotics involving land, aerial and marine autonomous vehicles as well as computer vision.
